God of Surprises

This year for our Lent Course we will be discovering more about the Spirituality of Saint Ignatius and returning to Gerard Hughes’ life-changing bestseller 'God of Surprises' to be our guide. This is one of the great modern classics of spiritual guidance. For those who are new to this book it provides deep practical wisdom and guidance and for those of us returning to it we will be asking how far have we come or grown in the intervening years since we read it before. Jesus said, 'The Kingdom of Heaven is like a treasure hidden in a field.' This Lent course is about seeking to discover that treasure in what we may consider the most unlikely field – our own lives. Each week we will reflect upon that journey of discovery. At each session we will use methods of reflection and prayer from St Ignatius’ Spiritual Exercises and then divide into listening groups to share with one another.

6.30pm Bread for the World, an informal Eucharist at which the theme for the week is introduced. This will be in the building and also live-streamed on Facebook.

7.45-8.50pm Listening Groups either onsite or online. If you are attending online, you will be sent a link if you have registered before the course begins.
