Servant King Church & Community Centre, Furzton

Servant King is one of two modern churches in the partnership.  It was opened in September 1992 as both a church and community centre.

Right from the start we have sought to serve the community.  Providing a safe space for people to come together for fun, fitness, relaxation, learning, fellowship and worship.  The church is used extensively throughout the week for groups catering to all ages.  Besides the Furzton Tots Preschool, there are Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Brownies.  We host various fitness groups for all ages along with square dance.  We also host Kumon Maths as well as our very successful 50+ Club 2-4pm  every Tuesday afternoon.  To find out all that's on offer please click here.

The church building is also home to the Watling Valley Partnership office.

Servant King Church & Community Centre Refurbishment Project

After many years of heavy use, the building is showing signs of wear and tear and is in need of a bit of TLC.

Over the course of this year, we are embarking on a £130,000 refurbishment project to improve the facilities for our users and ultimately the community.  This work is all being carried out by the generous donations from the public and from any grant funding we can receive.  This is no easy task.  All the money has to be raised by the local congregation.

We're pleased to say that we are well on the way to reaching our target.  We have raised in excess of £60,000 through donations and the support of Vinci.

So far we have replaced the boiler, repaired the roof, rewired the building (including installing LED lighting).  rewired the external lighting (including installing LED lights) and we have refurbished the small kitchen.

Still to be completed is the refurbishment of all the toilets (planned for Summer 2020).

Then we will still have to complete the following:

-  the replacement of all the radiators,
-  replacing the flooring throughout the building,
-  redorcating throughout
- installing an audio visual system that will not only help with worship but will also be available for hirers and for conferences.

This work will be carried out as and when the funding comes in.

If you would like to make a donation to the refurbishment project, we would be extremely grateful.   Everything we receive will make a difference to all who use the building.  You can make a donation here.

Our future plans include creating a community coffee shop.  If you have ideas of things we can be doing for the community then please contact us.
